Savory Kale Chips
1 bunch Kale – Lacinato or Dinosaur kale is great for this
1/4 C Olive oil (I have also used melted coconut oil with success)
1 1/2 tsp Coarse Sea Salt
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees F, wash kale, remove stems and dry COMPLETELY. I use a salad spinner and then paper towels and do small batches. They will not come out right if the kale is not completely dry before you put it in the oven.
2. toss all ingredients in a bowl or (my favorite kitchen hack) a large zip top bag. MAssage the kale and make sure all the pieces are evenly covered. The massaging also help to break down some of the texture and improves the flavor.
3. spread the kale in a single layer on a baking sheet, I usually do batches here too. Bake until crisp – about 15-20 minutes
