The Obligatory Kale Smoothie

1 Tbsp Chia Seeds2 Tbsp Cacao Powder

2 C Coconut Milk (I like the creaminess of full fat, but use what suits you)

2 C Packed Raw Baby Kale (smaller leaves are sweeter)

1/2 Avocado

1 tsp Cinnamon

1 Scoop (about 1/4C) vanilla or chocolate Protein Powder (I use Vegan Chocolate Shakeology)

1 Tbsp Coconut Oil

8 Ice Cubes

Stevia to taste

  
Liquify everything in a blender and drink immediately.
*The Vegan Chocolate Shakeology has stevia in it so I don’t add any additional sweetener.

*This recipe is a base, tweak it how you want. If you are just getting into drinking smoothies, add more fruit to make it sweeter.

*Blenders also make a difference, if you have a Vitamix or Blendtec it will pulverize the kale and chia seeds. I use a Ninja Pro and it’s not quite as powerful, but I don’t mind the texture. If you want a completely smooth smoothie, invest in a high powered blender.
